Dragonfly

This is a 5 X 7 card that I based on the sketch challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas.
This dragonfly is from the Art Philosophy Cartridge from page 24 under the Decorative Layer feature at 2.5 inches.  Then I cut the Dragonfly cut at 1.75 inches in a thick clear sheet.  I put some Zig 2 Way glue around the wing edges and sprinkled them with some Stampin' Up Dazzling Diamonds.
I cut the patterned paper for the two squares at 2.50 inches square and the solid bases at 2.75 inches.
I felt that there was too much space so I cut another solid square at 2 inches square and cut it in half and layered it on the patterned squares.  I added my gems to finish.

I am also entering this card at Fantabulous Cricut for their Challenge Me Monday which this week is to use a bug on your project.

Bird on a Branch

For this 5 X 7 card, I used my Lori's Garden Imagine Cartridge.  I cut the bird and branch out in layers, but ended up only using the complete base cut.  I used some Diamond Stickles around the flowers added some pearls for the centers.  I added a pearl for the bird's eye also.  I tried to do some outlining with my white gel pen, but it would not work well on the printed image.
The lattice border is a Martha Stewart punch.  The awning is from Lori's Garden also and is a scrap from an earlier project.

I am entering this card for the following challenges:

Celebrate TODAY

For this 5.5 x 5.5 inch card, I started with this sketch from Mojo Monday.

I love square cards so I started with a pre-made red 5.5 square card.  Then I cut out the star from American Alphabet page 25 and all of the layers at 2.25 inches.  Next I cut circles from the same cartridge page 61 Font 2 Shadow at 2.75 inches in light blue and 3 inches in white.
I cut the lighter blue in 5.25 x 5.25 for the card layer.  Then the strip of striped paper is cut at 2.5 X 5.25.
The banner is cut from the Art Philosophy Cartridge on page 29 and cut at 3.25 inches.
The stamp is from PaperTrey Ink's Mega Mixed Messages and stamped with Stampin' Ups Night of Navy onto a 1.25 inch white square which is backed with a 1.5 inch red square.

I am also entering this into the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge-Me-Monday
#113 - Memorial Day
Make a project using the color red plus anything that makes you think of Memorial Day (ie. a flag, military symbol, or poppy).

Welcome

I have new neighbors and wanted to whip up a quick card for them.  This is a 5 X 7 card.

The papers are from DCWV's Songbird stack.  The Welcome is from the American Alphabet Cartridge that came pre-loaded on the Expression 2. It is shown on page 68 as the Font 3 Shift Image and cut at 1 inch.  After I cut it, I ran it through my Xyron and then sprinkled it with Stampin' Ups Dazzling Diamonds. The ribbon is a velvet ribbon from Cosmo Cricket.  I added some Stickles around the clouds for a little more sparkle.
Quick and simple.

Thanks for coming by and comments are such a treat,

Let's Go Fly a Kite

The Wobble Wednesday Challenge #11 theme for this week is SUMMER!  I was contemplating several ideas when I saw a picture of a kite and knew that was the perfect summery item to put on an Action Wobble!!

The kite and the sun are both cut from the Create A Critter cartridge.  This is a 5 x 7 card.  The kite is on page 48 and is the shift image.  I cut the kite at 4.75 inches and the Layer 1.  I didn't cut the face layer.  I cut the shadow image in white.  I took my white Signo gel pen and added some white stitching and a Copic marker to add some detail to the bows on the kite's tail.
The sun is on page 52 and cut at 1.75 inches.  For the sun I cut the main image and the shadow.  I added the face with Lemon Ice Stickles.
The Cloud paper is from DCWV from the Songbird Stack. I Stickled around the clouds for some sparkle.
The Stamp is from PaperTrey Ink's Mega Mixed Messages set.  It just seemed to capture the feeling of watching a kite soaring on a summer day.

My kite in motion.  It's so cute in person!

A close-up of the Action Wobble on the back of my kite.  If you haven't tried an Action Wobble you are missing out.  The motion they add to a card is really fun.

Can you tell that this card puts me in a happy place!!!!

It's Your Bird-Day

This is a birthday card using Birthday Bash cartridge.  The cute bird with banner and the card base are found on page 39.
The card base was cut at 5.5 inches and the banner is cut at 3 inches {I think, I always forget to write down the dimensions :( }.  I was generous with the Stickles and added two buttons to the banner ends.  The tag is also from Birthday Bash on page 30 the Card/Tag shift feature cut at 1 inch.  The stamp is from My Pink Stamper's Punny-licious set and heat-embossed.
I really liked this card but it needed something else and I decided to use a white stamp pad to add some clouds.  Lesson - next time cut out some clouds!

For the inside I used a phrase from the cartridge also.  It is found on page 48 under the Phrase feature and cut at 2 inches and of course added some Stickles.

Any suggestions on "fixing" the clouds are welcomed!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am entering this card in Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge #66 - Buttons, Banners and/or Birthday.

Masculine Birthday Card

I really liked the Mojo Monday Sketch this week and I needed to make a card for my Brother-in-law's birthday, so here is the result.

I really liked the way this card turned out.  The papers are from the DCWV Lemon Flower Stack and Paper Trey Ink Kraft cardstock.  The stamp is from Stampin' Ups Perfect Punches set.  I stamped it with Versa Mark and heat embossed it in silver.  The border is a Martha Stewart Punch in shiny silver paper, topped with a black ribbon. A couple of flowers from my stash and a Megan Elizabeth Sparkle Lightz in Girls Best Friend in the center.

This is the inspiration sketch:

For the Love of Brandon

This card is made for this challenge:
Cooking With Cricut Card Outreach

Since he likes Spiderman, I made him a Spiderman card similar to one I made last year which you can see here Spiderman Card.
This is a 4.25 X 5.5 inch card. I inked the yellow base with different colors to simulate a sky at sunset. I printed the spiderman on glossy photo paper and cut him out. I put him on an Action Wobble so he "moves".  The spiderweb is cut from Happy Hauntings cut at 9.5 inches and I added Stickles.

For the inside, I printed a quote from the movie onto white card stock on my printer and added it to an orange cardstock base.

This is such a worthwhile cause, I encourage everyone to participate.

A Simple Thank You

This is a quick, simple Thank You card I made using the Phrases cartridge.  The Phrase is from page 68 and I only used the 1st image, not the whole design, cut at 3.25 inches to be placed on a 4.25 X 5.5 inch card. The Thank You was cut from DCWV Mariposa Stack.  The 2 patterned papers are from DCWV The Guy Stack. I wanted more of the base paper to show so I cut the top layer at 3.75 inches x 5 inches.
The Jewels in the corners are Megan Elizabeth Sprakle Lightz in the color called Chillax at 4mm.

This card is for a gentleman who helped my husband change his truck tire when we pulled our 5th Wheel to Darlington.
I am happy with the way this quick card turned out. Masculine and Elegant at the same time.

Thanks for coming by.  Questions and comments are always welcomed.

Flowers Times Two

I got the Florals Embellished cartridge this weekend.  I couldn't wait to get started with it.

For the first  4.25 X 5.5 card (with the orange oval) I chose the flower on page 37.  It is cut at 4.25 inches.  I added some purple gems to the center.   The oval was cut from the Art Philosopy cartridge from page 42 and is cut at 5 inches, then I ran it through the Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots folder.
I added the ribbon and decided it needed something else.  So, the butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch to which I added some black marker and then sprinkled with Stampin' Ups Dazzling Diamonds.
I am going to enter it at
Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge # 65 -flowers.
Cardz TV Challenge #108- May Day (flowers)
Critter Sketch Challenge #115 - Flowers
For the 2nd card I chose the flower from page 21.  It reminds me of a Passion Flower.
This flower is also cut at 4.25 inches. For the center I added a Megan Elizabeth Sparkle Lightz in a color called Lush which is a very deep purple and is in the 8mm size.  I added some Stickles and placed it on an Action Wobble .  I used my Martha Stewart Trellis Loop Trim punch for the "ribbon" at the top.  I felt it needed another element so I added a couple of the butterflies with the Martha Stewart punch.
I am entering it at

Mother's Day Card 3

This card was based on the sketch at Mojo Monday

This is a 5 x 7 card.
I used paper from the DCWV Latte Stack.  The scalloped circles were cut from the Art Philosophy cartridge Circle 3 on page 41.  The larger one was cut at 3.75 inches and the smaller one at 3.5 inches.  The banner was cut at 3.25 inches from page 29. The leaves were cut from Cricut Essentials on pages 39 & 40 and both cut at 1.5 inches.
The sentiment is from 2 different stamp collections.  The "for my" is from My Pink Stamper's Family and Friends.  The "wonderful Mother" is from Stampin' Up's Whimsical Words.  The purple ribbon is PaperTrey Ink's Plum Pudding.  The flowers and the pearl were from my stash.

For the inside I used the same papers with a piece of white for writing a sentiment.

Another Mother's Day Card

I started out with this bright paper from a paper pack that I have had a long time by Best Occasions which I believe came from WalMart. It is a 4.25 X 5.5 inch A2 card. The base is from PaperTrey Ink in Orange Zest.  Then I used my newest Martha Stewart Deep edge punch called Twirl Loop on a piece of Core'dinations Solid-Dyed Core in a bright pink for the bottom lace.  The "Happy Mother's Day" die cut is from the Phrases cartridge.  It is the phrase 2 feature on page 25 and cut at 2.50 inches.  The orange polka dot embossed ribbon has been in my stash for a long time now.  I finished it with a little pink flower with a jeweled center.  Simple!

I love the bright colors and the cheerful look to this card!

DCD Sketch Challenge

UPDATE:  I WAS SHOWCASED ON THE DIE CUTTIN' DIVAS WEBSITE FOR THIS CARD!

WHOO HOO!

This is my take on Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge #63 which is a sketch challenge.

I almost made two cards in row without my Cricut!  But my scallop punch broke on me, so my Trusty Cricut Expression 2 Anniverasary Edition was patiently waiting on me to put it into service.

I still had the patterned paper out from my last card so I decided to use it again.  It is from DCWV The Chateau Lavender Stack.  This time I used a green card base again by using PaperTrey Ink paper.

For the border I used my Martha Stewart Trellis Loop Trim punch and put it on top of purple ribbon.  For my flower I used my Art Philosophy cartridge and the chip board dimensionals that I got when I bought the package.   I cut the flower from page 48 at 2 inches.  I added a large gem in the center.  I wanted to  add more ribbon and a bow didn't seem to do it so I did a ribbon loop and put my flower on top of it.

I didn't add the sentiment but will put something inside later on.

I hope you like my "interpretation" of the sketch.  Thanks for coming by and I appreciate any comments.

Cindy :)

Wonderful Mother

Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge #39

So I obviously chose the square!  My card is a 5.5 inch square card.  The card base is PaperTrey Ink Plum Pudding.  The rest of the paper is from DCWV  The Chateau Lavender Stack.  The tag also came from the stack.  The "Wonderful Mother" is from a Stampin' Up set called Well Scripted and stamped with Chocolate Chip classic ink.

I popped the tag up for dimension.  Added crinkle ribbon and a taupe pearl.

One of those rare occasions when I didn't crank up the Cricut.
Thanks for coming by and for all the sweet comments.  They really make my day.

Bling, Go Bling!

UPDATE:  I WON THE COOKING WITH CRICUT CHALLENGE FOR THIS CARD -  SEE
IT HERE http://www.cookingwithcricut.com

My racy card is made with the Rock Princess cartridge.  This cut is from page 32 and is cut at 3.5 inches for a 4.25 X 5.5 card.  I took her hot pink motor scooter and coated it in Stampin' Up Dazzlin' Diamonds for some bling.   I cut her wheels and skirt out of shiny silver paper.  I put Inkssentials Glossy Accents on her windshield, sunglasses and boots to give them shine.  I used a Martha Stewart punch to punch the lacy border and added some clear gems for even more bling.  And she is ready to ride!
I haven't decided what to put on the inside yet.  I am thinking of "You Go Girl!"  Or "Ready to Roll".

I made this card for the following challenges:

Bee-u-tiful

This pretty paper is from a K&Company paper pad that I have had for a couple of years.
This is a 4.25 X 5.5 inch card.  I cut each square at 1.25 inches.  Then put them back together on the card.  The bee is from the Art Nouveau cartridge page 56 and cut at 2 inches.  Then coated in Stampin' Up Crystal Effects.  I added two dark brown pearls for the eyes.  The leaf for the flower is from page 31 Layer 1 feature cut at 4 inches. The rose is a Recollections embellishment.  A little piece of ribbon tied into a bow.  The "Bee-u-tiful" stamp is a My Pink Stamper stamp from her Punny-licious collection and punched out with the Stampin' Up Modern Label Punch.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Hang In There!

This is a 4.25 X 5.5 inch card.  The background paper is from DCWV Latte Stack.
The cute little monkey is cut from Create A Critter.  I just can"t stay away from that cartridge!
He is from page 46 and is cut at 2.75 inches.
The umbrella is from the American Alphabet cartridge (another favorite) and is on page 40 and cut at 2.25 inches.
The palm tree is from Life is a Beach.  It is on page 41.  The cut includes a small island piece which I didn't use.  I wanted it big so I cut it at 6 inches.
I then added Waterfall Stickles for the rain drops.  For each one I just put a drop of Stickles and then took a large pin (the one I use to clear my glue bottles!) and just pulled each drop down to form the raindrop.

My monkey is on an Action Wobble so he is "floating" through the trees with his umbrella.

For the inside, I used a cut from the Wild Card cartridge.  It is on page 47 and is the Phrase Shift feature.  I cut it on Real Dial Size at 3.5 inches.

I am going to enter this card in the following challenges:

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge
#107 - April Showers - Make a project with an umbrella, rain, or clouds on it.

Wobble Wednesdays
#6 -Make a project with a pet on it and put it on your Wobble.
I took a little bit of a liberty with the "pet". Since I don't have and won't have a monkey for a pet!!!  But some people do!

Balloons and Sketch Challenge

I have my Card/Stamp group tomorrow.  This month we were to make Birthday Cards.
I used the Mojo Monday Challenge # 237 Sketch for my design.

I printed the background paper from the Berries and Cream Imagine cartridge. I cut it down for a 4.25 inch by 5.5 inch card.  I cut the "Happy" from the Cricut American Alphabet cartridge at 1 inch.  The Shimmer yellow paper from PaperTrey Ink is cut at 1.25 inches X 5.5 inches.
The label is from the Art Nouveau cartridge page 29, the Layer 2 shift image flipped on it side and cut at 1.75 inches.  The "Birthday" is from my favorite Happy Birthday Stamp from Close To My Heart.  I placed scotch tape over the "Happy" and ink the stamp, then remove the tape and get a nice image of just the "Birthday".  I used Memento's Rose Bud ink for the phrase.
I added the balloons in the corner for the Bitten By the Bug2  Challenge-
Balloons and Birthday Card Challenge
They were cut from the Just A Note cartridge.  They are on page 46 and are under the Card Layer feature key.  I think they are cut at 3 inches.  Then I added the Polka Dots with a Stampin' Up Stamp  called Dot, Dot, Dot with the Memento Rose Bud Ink.

For the inside I stamped the phrase from a Stampin' Up Stamp from a set called Heard from the Heart.  I used the same Memento ink.
My favorite part of this project was the pretty paper that I printed with my Imagine.  I think I may could get addicted to printing the pretty papers!
I made 7 of these for my group tomorrow.  I hope they like them.

Thanks for coming by and y'all come back again soon,

Believe

I don't know if you noticed, but the Cooking With Cricut Challenge that I entered with the Lollipop card that I posted yesterday had 2 girls that are suffering with cancer that they were trying to reach out to.
The lollipop card I thought would be suited for they younger girl and I thought this butterfly would be appropriate for the older of the girls.

The Butterfly is cut from the Art Nouveau cartridge.  It is on page 53.  I wanted it to be big so I cut it at 4.5 inches.  I put all the layers together then cut the shadow and popped it up on the shadow.

\

I put it on a 5.5 x 5.5 inch card.  The "Believe" is a my Pink Stamper Stamp from the Family and Friends set.

I am going to post it to the challenge.  I hope they don't mind that I post a second time, but I made a card for each child.

It is a wonderful thing to do to encourage a child and even more so a sick child.  It would be great if my readers would go to Cooking with Cricut Challenge 81 and participate with this worthy challenge.

Thanks for coming by and y'all come back again soon,

Dance of the Lollipops

I stayed up way too late last night playing making this card.  The lollipops were a lot of fun.

The lollipops are from Just A Note which came pre-loaded on the Expression 2.  They are on page 57 and cut at 3.5 inches to be placed on a 5 x 7 card.  I took the Layer 1 "swirls" and ran them through the Xyron and sprinkled them with Stampin' Up Dazzling Diamonds.  I put some Glossy Accents on the bows.  Then I placed all three of them on Action Wobbles.  Therefore, dancing lollies!  I also punched out a 1 3/4 inch circle in kraft paper and added to the back of the lollipops before adding the Action Wobbles.  I like to add some weight to things that I put the wobbles on so that they move better (lesson learned earlier).

The Sweet Wishes stamp is from My Pink Stamper's Simply Sweet Occasions stamp set.

I made this card for the following challenges:

Wobble Wednesday's Challenge #5 -
3 Circle Challenge - add 3 circles anywhere on your project

and

Cooking With Cricut Challenge #81 - Card Outreach
Today our Design Team is showcasing "Thinking of You" cards for two sweet young ladies who are battling different kinds of cancer.

Isn't that a really great challenge!  To do some kindness for a child who is suffering!!

Iris

I was anxious to try out my new Art Nouveau cartridge.  I picked out this Iris to make a card for my cousin.

I cut the Iris and all it's layers at 4 inches from page 28.
Then I cut the background that is the Font 2 Layer on page 60 at 4.5 inches in Shimmer Gold from PaperTrey Ink.  The shape seemed to mimic the Iris.
Then I cut it again at 5 inches in a green patterned paper from my stash.
I wanted another layer to place on my purple 5.5 x 5.5 inch card base.  I couldn't find quite what I wanted so I heat embossed some gold stripes with a Stampin' Up stamp called Solid Stripes and Recollections Clear Gold Sparkling Embossing powder. I cut it at 5.25 x 5.25 inches and added it to my base card.
I ran a purple ribbon between the embossed layer and the green layer and tied a bow.   I added both the Green and Shimmer Gold layers with foam tape to pop them up a little bit.

The more I look at it, the more it grows on me!

Lori's Garden card

I was on vacation last week and missed all the fun challenges.  I am happy to be back in my craft room now :), even if it is a mess!

I received a couple of new cartridges right before I left (Lori's Garden and Art Nouveau) and of course I was anxious to use them.
I really haven't used my Imagine like I should since I got it, but just love the Lori's Garden cartridge and wanted to try it out.

All the paper except for the strip of pink polka dot came from the Lori's Garden cartridge.  It's got some gorgeous florals and great birds and birdcages.  I printed and cut the flower at 2 inches.  Then I p&c the scalloped circle at 2.5 inches.  The flower and the blue strip are both popped up.  The white strip is a new Martha Stewart punch that I just got called Trellis Loop Trim and it cuts both sides out.  It came from HSN. I used some of my Shimmer white card stock from PaperTrey Ink to punch it out.  I added some Stickles to the flower, a white ribbon and a blue button.

More white shimmer and a scallop from the base paper for the inside.

I made this card for the following challenges:

Hoppy Easter

I decided today that I needed to make another Easter card or two.  I pulled out the remainder of the pink polka dot that I used in the Bunny Flourish card I posted a couple of days ago.
Then I decided to use the Bunny on page 26 of the Create A Critter cartridge.
Then I realized that since I was making a card with a bunny, I should put it on an Action Wobble so I could enter it in the Wobble Wednesday's Challenge.  So I did!

I cut the base scallop in white shimmer cardstock from PaperTrey Ink at 5.5".  The scallop is on page 33 of the Art Philosopy cartridge.  I cut the solid pink layer @ 5" using the Cricut Essentials cartridge that came pre-loaded on my Expression 2 and is located on page 26 of the handbook.  I used the same cut for the pink polka dot layer cutting it at 4.75".
I cut my bunny and all his layers at 3.5" and his top layer is cut from S.E.I. velvet, so he is a furry bunny (a velveteen rabbit, if you will)! I wanted to add a background element since I was putting him on a wobble and I cut the white shimmer layer he is stuck to from Cricut Essentials on page 27 Label 2.  I cut it at 2.75" and turned it 90 degrees on it side.  I adhered the pink ribbon and bow then added the "Label" element to the center and stuck my bunny on his Action wobble in the center.
The "Hoppy Easter" greeting I printed out on my computer and punched it out with my Stampin' Up Modern label punch and glued it to cardstock. It is popped up on foam tape.
Then I added some Recollections pearls to the corners.

My bunny dancing on his wobble!

CUTE STORY ALERT:

For Valentine's Day, I made a ladybug on an Action Wobble card for my Granddaughter Katy (see it here http://pinkladysparadise.blogspot.com/2012/02/ladybug-valentine.html).  My daughter-in-law told me this weekend that she hung it on a bulletin board over Katy's changing table.  She said that Katy's new favorite game is to give it a kick and watch it wobble while she is getting a diaper change. Isn't that just precious!!!

Like I mentioned previously, I am going to post it on the Wobble Wednesday's Challenge Blog -

And now, onto the next challenge! Challenge #3 is....
All about BUNNIES
You can make a card, a party favor etc.. but it must include an Action Wobble and a bunny. Feel free to use stamps, die cuts, Cricut cuts, whatever.

Shake Your Tailfeather

I thought this card would be good for encouragement or congratulations.
I used Create A Critter and cut the cute little birdie on page 45 the shift image.  I cut the birdie and all his parts at 3.25".  I inked him and put him on an Action Wobble.
I printed the phrase out on my computer and popped it up.
The card shape, layer (square 5)  and the frame (decorative layer) are from Art Philosophy page 63 and cut at 5.5".

This is my little birdie shaking his tailfeather!

I made this card for the following challenges:

Cricut Cardz Challenge-  Challenge #105: “You’ve Been Framed!" Make a card for any occasion using a frame from any cartridge and using any colors you’d like.
Cooking With Cricut Challenge -

I had also wanted to put in the  Wobble Wednesdays Challenge but when I went to post it, I realized I had looked at challenge #1 and this week they are on challenge #3 which included a bunny!  Oh well, maybe next week!
