Monogram Card

Fantabulous Cricut is having a color challenge today.  The colors are green, purple, and turquoise.  This was a little harder than I thought to coordinate.
Also Bitten By The Bug 2 is having a Monogram challenge.

I used my new Letter Envy Font cartridge page 53. This is a 4.25" X 5.5" card. Both layers of the Crest were cut at 3.75". The "C" is cut at 2.5".  The scallop designed paper was from a .99 cent pack from Target.  The color is better in person.  I added some Stickles in a color called Mermaid to the flower on the C. The ribbon is from PaperTrey Ink.

Kitty Be Happy

I had to make a card swap for my monthly card group.  I had already decided to do this kitten from Kate's ABCs when I saw that the Die Cuttin' Divas challenge this week was to use a pet.  So it worked out well for me.

This cute kitty is on page 53 of the cartridge.  I cut her at 3.5 inches for my 4.25 X 5.5 inch card.
All the other layers were cut at the same relative size and worked perfectly.
I used some Stickles on the butterfly and the center of the flowers.
I used some gold Smooch on the kitten's bell.
The "be happy" stamp is from my new set from Cardz TV called Encouraging Thoughts. I used Night of Navy Classic stampin' pad from Stampin' Up.

I am going to also enter this in the challenge at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge
#99 – Fancy Trims
Use fabric, lace or other trims on your project
I used some satin ribbon for my trim.

Thank Ewe

I really like how this card turned out.  It is for a couple of challenges and for my daughter.  She needed a thank you card for a lady who mentored her for a school project.

Cooking With Cricut Challenge #73 This week the Cooking With Cricut challenge is a sketch, and pick three, (ribbon, flowers, glitter, stickles, brads eyelets, border punch, chalk or ink. Here is the sketch.

I followed the sketch but forgot about the pick three.

The next challenge is the Cricut Cardz challenge.  I submitted a card for the last challenge and I won the give-away, which is a set of Cardz Tv stamps!! I'm so excited!  I can't wait to get them!!!
For Cricut Cardz Challenge #102, “A Stitch in Time”, make a card for any occasion using real or faux stitching and use any cartridges or colors you’d like.

For the 5 x 7 card I used my trusty Create A Critter cartridge.  My Little lamb is on page 71 and I cut her at 3.5" .  The papers for the card are from DCWV Lemon Flower Stack.  Yellow is usually not at the top of my list of colors, but I love this stack.  The colors are great and coordinate well.  I added some black faux stitiching and some silver pearls to finish up the front.
For the inside I used the American Cricut Alphabet that came with my Expression 2 (which I also love).  I cut the letters from Font 1 at 1 inch. Then with the Cricut Craft Room, I took the shadows of the letters at the same size and welded them together.  So I glued the individual letters onto the welded shadow.

Zebra smile

Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge #52 is a Color Challenge this week.

The colors are red, pink, white, and black. Use at least two colors from the list provided.
Sponsor Bonus: Use buttons on your project

So I was looking through my Create A Critter cartridge for another idea that I had and ran across the cutie Zebra.  I decided he was perfect for this challenge!

This cute guy is on page 47. I cut him at 4.25" to put him on this 5.5 x 5.5" card. I added a button and some twine for the flower center, some polka dot ribbon and a Smile stamp.
It is a simple card, but I decided he was cute enough to stand alone!

I Lava U

I made this card for my daughter to give her boyfriend for Valentine's Day.  I have to say that the concept was her idea. I was thrilled when I found the volcano on my favorite cartridge Create A Critter!! I thought it turned out really cute and I used Create A Critter for all the cuts, which was really convenient.

I apologize that my picture is crooked.  I was rushing :(.  This is a 4.25" X 5.5" inch card with a kraft paper base. The volcano is on page 50, the shift image of the Create A Critter cartridge.  I did all the layers except the lava and gave "her" some eyelashes and some white dots to the eyes.  The cute dinosaur is on the next page, 51, and I cut all of his layers.  The grasses are cut from the shift feature on the Accessory key on pages 44 and 45.  The sun is from page 52 and I cut all the layers and added some pink to the cheeks. The hearts for the "lava" are from page 49 and are the shift feature of the Phrase key.

For the inside I cut the phrase feature also from page 49 and added some stickers for the heart and the lava.

I am going to post this on the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog.  Their challenge this week happens to be using "puns".  So it worked out perfectly.

My Pink Stamper Pinkalicious Blog Hop Challenge

The challenge (My Pink Stamper Challenge) is to make a card that includes the color red, a circle, a pink ribbon and more than 1 Pink Stamper Stamps.

This is what I came up with

I had been wanting to make a Joy Fold card since Mary on Cardz TV made a cute one recently.
Here is the link to her video Cardz TV Joy Fold Card. I used her dimensions for this card.  I had made Joy Fold cards as Christmas cards in 2009 with different dimensions but the concept is the same.  Here is the link to those http://pinkladysparadise.blogspot.com/2009/12/joy-fold-cards.html.

For this card I used this paper from DCWV Taj Mahal stack.  It has the red and pink and circles, so it fit the requirements quite well!.  For the front I cut a 2.5" red circle from Cricut Essentials which was pre-loaded on my Cricut Expression 2.  Then I cut a pink circle at 1.75". On the pink circle I stamped "Pink"ing of you! from My Pink Stamper's Pinka-licious stamp set with my Champagne Versa Mark pad, sprinkled it with gold embossing powder and hit it with my heat tool.
For the inside I added a lighter color paper and stamped the "On your special day" from My Pink Stamper's Family & Friends stamp set.  I can use this for several different occasions!
I added the pink ribbon as a closure but it was too wide and did not look good tied in a bow.  So I taped the piece on the left down on the inside flap of the card with Terrifically Tacky Tape and pulled the other side through on the front to make my knot.

So did I meet the requirements?  Red - check.  Circle - check.  Pink Ribbon - check.  More than 1 My Pink Stamper stamp - check!

This challenge was a bit of a challenge for me, but that is what made it fun.

Rose on Purple

The Die Cuttin' Divas are having a sketch challenge this week. This is the sketch to follow.

This is my card based on the sketch.

This is a standard 4.25 X 5.5" card.   I started with the rose.  It is from the Sophie cartridge and is listed as Rose 1 on page 37 the image and shift image cut at 3".  I took the outline cut and ran it through the Xyron and hit it with some of the Dazzling Diamonds from Stampin' Up.  The leaves are from page 64 and are part of the Flower 6 image also cut at 3".  I used the shift image and hid the flower and only cut the leaves.  This was really easy to do with Cricut Craftroom.  I took my Martha Stewart scoreboard and scored down the center of the leaves to make them more realistic. I learned this tip from Melanie at  Everyday Cricut.  I started with the card base at 4.25 X 5.5" and each layer is .25 inch smaller.  So the green striped layer is 4 X 5.25" and the top purple layer is 3.75 X 5".

Now for the rest of the story:
My Sophie cartridge stopped working in my Expression 2.  It comes up but when I pick an image it goes back to the screen that says Expression 2 and then shows a blank mat.  I was devastated because I LOVE the Sophie cartridge.  So before I called Provo Craft, I thought I would do a little experiment and see if it would cut from Cricut Craftroom.  So I went to Cricut Craftroom and put the rose on my virtual mat and as you can see it worked!

The Lace "doily" is from the Art Philosophy cartridge, it is the shift on the Font Layer option on page 65. I cut it at 4.25".  Then finished my card with a while lace ribbon and the green ribbon.

Ladybug Valentine

I made this for my little Granddaughter's 1st Valentine's Day.  Her room is decorated in Ladybugs, so I made a ladybug for Katy-bug.

This is a 5.5" square card.  I used a Martha Stewart Punch around the page punch for the white "doily"(5" square).  And used pop dots to lift it off the page.
This cute ladybug is from the Paisley cartridge.  It is on page 27 and is cut at 3 1/2".  I used clear gems for the spots and added some red Stickles to add color.  I used some small hearts from another Martha Stewart punch and glittered them for the four corners.  A couple of black pearls for the eyes.
Then I put the ladybug on an Action Wobble so she "wiggles" when the card is handled.

If you are not familiar with Aciton Wobbles, they are plastic coils with sticky on both sides to give movement to elements on your card or page.  I Love Them!  They can be ordered online from www.actionwobble.com.

A "Girl-y" Birthday

This is a feminine birthday card.  It is a standard 4.25" x 5.5" card.  The papers I used are from DCWV Taj Mahal stack and for the yellow base I used Paper Trey Ink.

I used the Cindy Loo cartridge for the frame. It is on page 49 and cut at 3".  I stickled the layers and popped it up on the card.   I used a Martha Stewart Deep Edge punch for the bottom.  The "Happy Birthday" is the Close to My Heart Stamp that I have used a few times now stamped in pink!  I put a pink ribbon and some pink pearls to finish.

I am planning on entering this into these challenges :

Cardz TV Design Team Challenge #5

"Tickled Pink!"

and
Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge #50
and this week...
it's Anything Goes!
