Hugs to You

I kept wanting to do something with these scraps from another card that I made.  The paper is from Paper Studio's Oops a Daisy. The ribbon is from Paper Trey Ink.

It's just hard for me to get the colors right in photographs.  This flower is from American Alphabet ( I adore this cartridge) page 23.  I added the stitching around the flower to compliment the ribbon.
The "hugs to you" is a http://www.mypinkstamper.com/ stamp from the Everyday Life set.  I stamped it with Stampin' Up ink and cut it out with the Stampin' Up Modern Label punch.  I popped up the flower and the sentiment.

I think this card really turned out cute and not at all like my original vision!  But that is often how it goes.

Baby Frame

A sweet friend of mine (Betty Hall) gave me this adorable picture frame.  It is metal and came with three adorable magnets - rattle, feet and carriage.  I don't think she knew, but the colors are perfect for the baby's room.  So I decided to add her name in vinyl.  I just happened to have this pink vinyl which worked perfectly.

I cut the letters from the American Alphabet cartridge that came with the E2 set at 1.75 inches.  I used the pre-set vinyl kiss cut on the machine and it cut perfectly.  I didn't use transfer tape.  I just peeled each letter off with my handy dandy Tweezer Bees and placed them directly on the frame. I think it turned out really cute.  The problem with vinyl is once you finish one project, you immediately start looking for another!!

I hope Betty doesn't mind that I send it to Billy & Clare for the baby's room, since it is the perfect colors.  Thanks again, Betty.

Baby, you are a firework

Okay, this is not the most professional card that I have made, but it is fun anyway.

This dancing darling is from Rock Princess.  The base layer is a shiny metallic red, but in the picture you can only tell on the bottom part of the card.  My printer was broken, so I tried to compromise.  I used some stickers for the first line and then cut "firework" from the Rock Princess font in the same metallic red.  I had to piece the words together. I used Stickles to glitter the stars and to add "confetti". I used Glossy Accents on the skirt and the shoes.  The bracelet cuts were so small, I used markers to draw them on and added Glossy Accents.

By the time I did the inside I had replaced my printer.  I printed the inside sentiment. I used the Amerian Alphabet cartridge that came with my Expression 2 Anniversary Edition for the word BLAST!

This card was for one of Shelby's friends and it fit her well!

Pink & Black Birthday

I couldn't put down the Black Currant Stack from DCWV, so I used it again to make a friend's birthday card.

The elegant "Happy Birthday" on the front is from Martha Stewart Elegant Cake Cartridge.  Just can't beat the word art on the cake cartridges!  The border punch is from Stampin' Up as is the inside sentiment.  Some paper layering and a black ribbon and I'm done!  Oh and I added a little black pearl for the dot on the "i"!

Black & Pink Thank You

I'm on a roll.....

This another one of those cards that are much better in person.  It is made with DCWV's Black Currant Stack.  The paper is so pretty, it doesn't take much to make a beautiful card.  However, since it has a lot of shine and pattern to it, it is hard to photograph.

The Thank You is cut from page 70 of Cricut Cake Basics.  The Font and Font Shadow cuts.  The ribbon is Paper Trey Ink.  Every thing else is from the Black Currant stack.  I cut the flower from the paper and popped it up.

More of the paper layered on the inside and done!  I may have to buy another one of these stacks.  I love pink and black and these papers are so striking and pretty.

I'm not a Lion

Shelby asked me to make a card for a friend's birthday.  She asked for a "lion" and wanted to put the words "i'm not a lion" on it.
So I chose the lion on page 26 of the Life's a Party cartridge for an A2 sized card.  He is so cute! The paper for the Lion were just different scraps.  The Polka Dot background paper is from Paper Trey Ink's collection called Polka Dot Parade.  The card base is also Paper Trey Ink.

The sentiment I printed on the computer and cut out with Stampin' Up's Modern Label Punch and popped up.
The inside sentiment was also printed on the computer.

Shelby was happy with the way the card turned out and so was I.

Rock On!

My son, Ken asked me to make a quick card for his friend's birthday (which just happens to be today).  They both are musicians and guitar players.

I used the Cricut Decals cartridge that came on the Cricut Expression 2.  I cut the Pairs II cut on page 56 in paper from DCVW Shimmer Matstack and then the shadow of Pairs I on the same page in a paper from my scraps..

The polka dot paper is from Deja Views Home Collection.  The gold is from DCWV Shimmer Stack.  It is hard to see from the photo but it does have a shimmer to it.

The stamps are from My Pink Stamper's Everyday Life set.  The "Friend" is a stamp that says "for my Friend".  In order to just get the Friend, I covered the "for my" with scotch tape then I inked it and then removed the tape so that only the word "Friend" printed.

Of course I had to add some stickles to the guitar and some white pen stitches around the edge.

Ken liked it and I hope his friend, Jeremy does too.

Super Dad

I made this card for my son who is expecting his first child in October.  I know that he and his wife are going to be great parents to their baby girl.

My son Billy was crazy about Superman when he was little (and still is).  He had a cape that came with a set of Superman pajamas and every day I had to pin it to whatever shirt he was wearing.

This Superman came from Paper Doll Dress Up and the face is Peachy Keen Stamps called Dolly Dumplings.

Happy First Father-to-be Day Billy.

Father's Day Card

There is no Cricut on this card.  Can you believe that!  I used this sketch from Peachy Keen Stamps http://peachykeenstampschallenge.blogspot.com/.

My card is made with paper from a My Mind's Eye collection called Breaking Free.  It was a beachy themed collection that I have been hanging on to for a while.

The "Happy Father's Day" stamp is one of the first ones I bought and I don't remember the brand.  I added some red ribbon and a couple of black gems to finish.

P.S.  For some reason I am unable to post on other blogs.  I am working on it.

Thank You Pin Wheel

Did you miss me?  I was at the Beach last week. I had a great time but I did miss my Cricut and Cricut blogs!

My Pink Stamper has issued a color challenge of Orange, Turquoise and Green.
Lucky for me I have the DCWV Citrus stack that has a lot of that combination!
I also challenged myself to make a card with the Just A Note cartridge that came on my Cricut Expression 2.

Here is what I made:  The card on page 37 of the booklet is a Pin Wheel Thank You card.

I cut the card and then flipped the image and cut again to have the stripe on the inside and out.  I added a glitter brad to the layered Pin Wheel.  For the "sun" in the "o" of you, I punched a Martha Stewart snow flake and cut off the longer "branches".  I just followed the recipe in the booklet for this card.

Thanks for coming by and I appreciate any comments.
