My daughter asked me to make a birthday card for a friend. Three years ago when I was just getting started with my Cricut, I had just got the Hello Kitty Greetings cartridge and since she loves Hello Kitty, I made her friend a card with the Kitty holding the bunch of balloons (page 39), but unfortunately I had not begun taking pictures of my projects at that time.Last year I made her a Hello Kitty card (see here Hello Kitty Cake).
This year my daughter wanted to continue the tradition, so I made her card with the HK2 image on page 30. It is fun to use the card feature on this cartridge and make the kitty shaped card. I set my size at 5.5 inches and with the whiskers the card ends up about 4.5 inches wide.
I always think my card is not turning out because there is so much black space between the cuts and then it ends up looking great.
I added the mandatory (ha ha) Stickles to the centers of the flowers. Then I added some Glossy Accents to the eyes, nose and also to the whiskers. It helps stiffen the whiskers so that they don't bend so easily.
For the inside I used a stamp set that I got years ago. Sorry I don't know the brand. I used Memento's Rose Bud dye ink pad. For the little stem I used a Copic marker.
If you or your kids like Hello Kitty, this is such an adorable cartridge. Even if you are not a big fan of Hello Kitty, it has an adorable butterfly, flower, pumpkin, Christmas tree and more great images.
Thanks for coming by and y'all come back again soon,
Cindy :)
Love your card; it's so cute, Cindy! I have this cart and love the shape cards too. So easy, really. Just some small pieces sometimes.--Pat
