Hedgehugs

I had a blast making these for my Stars friends.  I had not received my order of the current Valentine's supplies from Stampin' Up, so I used what I had left from last year.

The sentiment and the cute little hedgehog are from Hedgehugs
a stamp set in the Stampin' Up current main catalog.  The box is from last year's Lots to Love box framelits set.
I put the hedgehog on an Action wobble so that he would give a happy wiggle when you pull the card out.
I also attached a piece of candy (Ghirardelli) to the back with a removable glue dot.

I decided to enter this in The Paper Players challenge.

St. Patty's Day fun cards

I bought these cute shamrocks at convention a few weeks ago with the idea of making this shaker card for my Granddaughter.

The Sprinkled and the jar dies are both from Paper Trey Ink.  I put the jar on an Action Wobble for movement.  I was pleased with the way it turned out and hope my Granddaughter will enjoy it.

I was at my Thursday stamping group making some cards with the Sheltering Tree from Stampin' Up.  I had added some sequins to the trees and one of the ladies said you should make one and put the shamrocks on it.  So I did.

It just had to have a pot of gold under it so I added that and a bright sun.

Let's Go Fly a Kite

The Wobble Wednesday Challenge #11 theme for this week is SUMMER!  I was contemplating several ideas when I saw a picture of a kite and knew that was the perfect summery item to put on an Action Wobble!!

The kite and the sun are both cut from the Create A Critter cartridge.  This is a 5 x 7 card.  The kite is on page 48 and is the shift image.  I cut the kite at 4.75 inches and the Layer 1.  I didn't cut the face layer.  I cut the shadow image in white.  I took my white Signo gel pen and added some white stitching and a Copic marker to add some detail to the bows on the kite's tail.

The sun is on page 52 and cut at 1.75 inches.  For the sun I cut the main image and the shadow.  I added the face with Lemon Ice Stickles. 

The Cloud paper is from DCWV from the Songbird Stack. I Stickled around the clouds for some sparkle.

The Stamp is from PaperTrey Ink's Mega Mixed Messages set.  It just seemed to capture the feeling of watching a kite soaring on a summer day.

A close-up of the Action Wobble on the back of my kite.  If you haven't tried an Action Wobble you are missing out.  The motion they add to a card is really fun.

For the Love of Brandon

Since he likes Spiderman, I made him a Spiderman card similar to one I made last year which you can see here Spiderman Card.
This is a 4.25 X 5.5 inch card. I inked the yellow base with different colors to simulate a sky at sunset. I printed the spiderman on glossy photo paper and cut him out. I put him on an Action Wobble so he "moves".  The spiderweb is cut from Happy Hauntings cut at 9.5 inches and I added Stickles. 

For the inside, I printed a quote from the movie onto white card stock on my printer and added it to an orange cardstock base.

This is such a worthwhile cause, I encourage everyone to participate.

Hang In There!

This is a 4.25 X 5.5 inch card.  The background paper is from DCWV Latte Stack.

The cute little monkey is cut from Create A Critter.  I just can"t stay away from that cartridge!

He is from page 46 and is cut at 2.75 inches.

The umbrella is from the American Alphabet cartridge (another favorite) and is on page 40 and cut at 2.25 inches.

The palm tree is from Life is a Beach.  It is on page 41.  The cut includes a small island piece which I didn't use.  I wanted it big so I cut it at 6 inches.

I then added Waterfall Stickles for the rain drops.  For each one I just put a drop of Stickles and then took a large pin (the one I use to clear my glue bottles!) and just pulled each drop down to form the raindrop.

My monkey is on an Action Wobble so he is "floating" through the trees with his umbrella.

For the inside, I used a cut from the Wild Card cartridge.  It is on page 47 and is the Phrase Shift feature.  I cut it on Real Dial Size at 3.5 inches.

Dance of the Lollipops

I stayed up way too late last night playing making this card.  The lollipops were a lot of fun.

The lollipops are from Just A Note which came pre-loaded on the Expression 2.  They are on page 57 and cut at 3.5 inches to be placed on a 5 x 7 card.  I took the Layer 1 "swirls" and ran them through the Xyron and sprinkled them with Stampin' Up Dazzling Diamonds.  I put some Glossy Accents on the bows.  Then I placed all three of them on Action Wobbles.  Therefore, dancing lollies!  I also punched out a 1 3/4 inch circle in kraft paper and added to the back of the lollipops before adding the Action Wobbles.  I like to add some weight to things that I put the wobbles on so that they move better (lesson learned earlier).

The Sweet Wishes stamp is from My Pink Stamper's Simply Sweet Occasions stamp set.

Hoppy Easter

I decided today that I needed to make another Easter card or two.  I pulled out the remainder of the pink polka dot that I used in the Bunny Flourish card I posted a couple of days ago. 
Then I decided to use the Bunny on page 26 of the Create A Critter cartridge.
Then I realized that since I was making a card with a bunny, I should put it on an Action Wobble so I could enter it in the Wobble Wednesday's Challenge.  So I did!

I cut the base scallop in white shimmer cardstock from PaperTrey Ink at 5.5".  The scallop is on page 33 of the Art Philosopy cartridge.  I cut the solid pink layer @ 5" using the Cricut Essentials cartridge that came pre-loaded on my Expression 2 and is located on page 26 of the handbook.  I used the same cut for the pink polka dot layer cutting it at 4.75".
I cut my bunny and all his layers at 3.5" and his top layer is cut from S.E.I. velvet, so he is a furry bunny (a velveteen rabbit, if you will)! I wanted to add a background element since I was putting him on a wobble and I cut the white shimmer layer he is stuck to from Cricut Essentials on page 27 Label 2.  I cut it at 2.75" and turned it 90 degrees on it side.  I adhered the pink ribbon and bow then added the "Label" element to the center and stuck my bunny on his Action wobble in the center.
The "Hoppy Easter" greeting I printed out on my computer and punched it out with my Stampin' Up Modern label punch and glued it to cardstock. It is popped up on foam tape.
Then I added some Recollections pearls to the corners.

CUTE STORY ALERT:

For Valentine's Day, I made a ladybug on an Action Wobble card for my Granddaughter Katy (see it here http://pinkladysparadise.blogspot.com/2012/02/ladybug-valentine.html).  My daughter-in-law told me this weekend that she hung it on a bulletin board over Katy's changing table.  She said that Katy's new favorite game is to give it a kick and watch it wobble while she is getting a diaper change. Isn't that just precious!!!

Shake Your Tailfeather

I thought this card would be good for encouragement or congratulations. 

I used Create A Critter and cut the cute little birdie on page 45 the shift image.  I cut the birdie and all his parts at 3.25".  I inked him and put him on an Action Wobble.

I printed the phrase out on my computer and popped it up.

The card shape, layer (square 5)  and the frame (decorative layer) are from Art Philosophy page 63 and cut at 5.5".

This is my little birdie shaking his tailfeather!

Ladybug Valentine

I made this for my little Granddaughter's 1st Valentine's Day.  Her room is decorated in Ladybugs, so I made a ladybug for Katy-bug. 

This is a 5.5" square card.  I used a Martha Stewart Punch around the page punch for the white "doily"(5" square).  And used pop dots to lift it off the page.

This cute ladybug is from the Paisley cartridge.  It is on page 27 and is cut at 3 1/2".  I used clear gems for the spots and added some red Stickles to add color.  I used some small hearts from another Martha Stewart punch and glittered them for the four corners.  A couple of black pearls for the eyes.

Then I put the ladybug on an Action Wobble so she "wiggles" when the card is handled.

If you are not familiar with Aciton Wobbles, they are plastic coils with sticky on both sides to give movement to elements on your card or page.  I Love Them!  They can be ordered online from www.actionwobble.com.

Valentine Hearts

In August I started going to a stamping group that meets once a month. We each make cards to exchange with each other and every month one person does a "hands on".  My first turn at doing the "hands on" was this month and of course was a Valentine's Day theme.  I took these 2 cards already made and then "kits" for them to make.  I gave them a choice of colors.

I purchased pre-made 5.5" x 5.5" cards in red and purple. Then for the purple card we added a 5.25 x 5.25" layer in a slightly darker purple. Then we took a 5 x 5" dark pink and punched it with a Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page Heart punch and popped it up on the card.  The next layer is a light lavender and I used the Cuttlebug and had embossed it with the Conversation Hearts folder for them. It measures 4" x 4". Then we inked it to make the embossing stand out. The pink heart was from the Sweethearts cartridge on page 71 the shadow cut at 3.5".  I had them run the hearts thru the Zyron and the pink heart was sprinkled with Martha Stewart Tourmaline Tinsel Glitter then popped up on the card.  For the inside the "xoxo" was cut from the Paisley cartridge on page 57 the image and shadow cut at 1.25" and then popped up on a solid rectangle cut at 2" x 5".  And it looks tilted because it is on an Action Wobble and wiggles when you open the card.

For the red card, the measurements are the same, with black for the 5.25" layer, a dark red for the 5' inch layer and a medium pink for the 4" layer.  The heart for the dark red card is from the Paisley cartridge page 61 cut at 3". The dark red glitter is from Beacon.

Except for the pre-made base, all the paper used was by Core'dinations.

The ladies all said that they really enjoyed making the cards.  I hope so.  I sure enjoyed designing them.

Shelby's Butterfly Birthday card

My one and only daughter turned 19 today.  I find it harder to make cards for the people I am closest to.  I don't know why.  I guess because I want them to be extra special. 
I have admired this butterfly on the Close to my Heart's Art Philosophy cartridge since I first saw it
(page 55).   I did 3 layers.  A solid bottom layer in purple, a solid layer in purple glitter and the filigree layer in the solid purple.  I only glued the layers together in the center so that the wing layers are seperate. Then I put it on an Action Wobble.

I took these pictures in a hurry and the paper colors are off.  The bottom layer has a nice warm brown background that doesn't come out in the picture.  I added gems to the butterfly's body and smaller gems for the antennae. A brown flower and pink flower with a purple center to finish the outside.

On the inside I used a deep edge Martha Stewart punch that I recently got called Daisy Lace.  I absolutely love this punch.   The Happy Birthday is one I have used repeatedly this fall from a Close to My Heart set called Celebrations.  I love it too.  The butterflies are also from a Close to My Heart set called Sentiments.  These sets were on special when I ordered the Art Philosophy cartridge and I picked them up also.

As I often say, this card is prettier in person because my photo didn't turn out well.  It didn't turn out quite like I wanted but my daughter, Shelby liked it and that is what matters the most!

Spider on the web

A quick  5 x 5 cardwith Martha Stewart's Punch Around the Page. The spider and web from Happy Hauntings page 102 Layer 2 feature.  Some Stampin' Up Dazzling Diamonds on the web and some Glossy Accents and Ruby Red Stickles on the Spider. 

I should have let the Glossy Accents dry better because some glitter stuck to my spider!  I punched out a circle and glued the web to it so that I could put it on an Action Wobble!  Now my spider web wiggles!  Fun, quick card.

Skeleton

I loved the card Maria did for the My Pink Stamper Designer's post (http://www.mypinkstamper.com/2011/08/my-pink-designers-august-post.html).  So I had to use the
skeleton in a card of my own!  Here is my card:

This is a 5 x 7 card. The cute skeleton is from Paper Doll Dress Up and is on page 53 under Accessories 3. He looks a little crooked but he's on an Action Wobble. I added a couple of black pearls for his eyes.
The paper is from DCWV Midnight Spell stack that I bought last fall.  The tree is also from Paper Doll Dress Up on page 52 the shift option of Accessories 3.  
The moon was just a circle punch and the fence is my new Martha Stewart punch. 
The inside phrase is from Happy Hauntings page 30 the Phrase feature.  I used the phrase and shadow.
I added a little Glossy Accents to  a couple of the black birds and a dab of black diamond Stickles to the spider web on the fence.

This was a fun card to make and the "dancing" skeleton is too cute!  May have to make a couple more of these!

Spiderman Card

Oh my goodness.  This was a long post that I did yesterday and after Blogger's issues last night, it has completely disappeared! :"(   Now I 've got to try and remember everything.

My cousin asked me to make a Spiderman card for her son's birthday.  I thought of several options but ended up printing this image from the internet on glossy photo paper.  I glued it to white card stock to add some strength to it.  Then I cut it very close and inked the edges to cover the white. 

I took a white 5 x 7 card base and added a pale yellow layer.  Then I took my Color Box cat's eye inks in Yellow Oche, Tangerine, Terra Cotta and Lipstick and blotted them all over the paper. I inked the edges of the card with the Lipstick ink.

I cut the spider web out of Shimmery Navy paper from PaperTrey Ink at 8 inches from the Happy Hauntings cartridge on page 102 Layer 2 image. I ran my Zig 2Way glue over it and sprinkled it with Stampin' Up Dazzling Diamonds glitter (my all time fav).  I attached it to the front of the card and trimmed the edges down to the size of the card. 

I then attached Spiderman with an Action Wobble to give him some dimension and movement.

For the inside of the card, I picked PaperTray Ink's Pure Poppy Paper and again with my Color Box Cat's eye inks blotted it.  The colors were Yellow Ochre. a medium purple and a royal blue color (the color name has rubbed off of the lid) to give it the look of a sunset.

 It seemed most of the pictures of Spiderman have city buildings in them, so I added this City Scape from Plantin SchoolBook page 69 (it looks like New York City with the World Trade Center twin towers to me).  I cut this from a the same dark navy shimmer paper from PaperTrey Ink. 

The Happy Birthday sentiment is a favorite of mine from Beyond Birthdays on page 96.  The top layer in a shimmer purple paper from PaperTrey Ink and the shadow in the same navy paper as the City Scape and the spider web.

I really like the way this card turned out.  It really looks good in person. The inking really made a big difference.

Spring in your step

I made this card last week for my sister who had gall bladder surgery.  I didn't want to post it before she got it.

I used my Picturesque cartridge again for this card.  The patterned paper is from the DCWV Latte stack and the solid card stock is PaperTrey Ink.  The "lattice" background is from page 74, the flower on page 54 ( I used the main cut, the shift cut and the shadow cut.) The leaves are from page 55. The butterfly is from page 65 ( I used the main image, the shift image and the blackout image.)  The butterfly is cut from glitter paper and of course on an Action Wobble.  Stickles on the flower to complete.

For the inside:  My writing on the inside wasn't so even and straight! The "spring" is from the Straight from the Nest cartridge on page 74, the Phrase and the Phrase shadow.  I also put it on an Action Wobble.  A double wobble card!

Koala Valentine

I have been trying to get in the mood to do Valentine's cards, but just can't seem to get started.  I have several ideas floating around in my noggin, but just unable to get going.
Today My Pink Stamper (http://www.mypinkstamper.com/) had a challenge to make something that makes you happy or reminds you of spring. I made this cute koala from Create a Critter with his iridescent balloon. So I am going to enter my cute koala in her challenge.

The cute koala is on page 49.  I cut the balloon from the shift image of the same cartridge.  I wish you could see the paper the balloon is cut from in person.  It changes color and the hearts change shape as you look from different angles.  I thought it would make it look like a mylar balloon. Too cute. I, of course, put it on an Action Wobble because if love the way it lets it move, like it is floating.
I used the Cuttlebug and the Conversation Hearts folder to emboss the front.
On the inside I used a Martha Stewart stamp around the page punch that I picked up last year.  The stamp was from a set that I have had a while with different holidays, but I don't have the original packaging so I don't remember the brand.  Sorry.

Basketball Birthday

I made this card for another nephew's birthday.  The basketball is on an Action Wobble.  Lesson Learned:  the larger, heavier a cut is, the better it wobbles.  The basketball doesn't have as much movement as the monkey on my first card.  But it still moves some and adds dimension, so I still like it.

The basketball player is from Everyday Paperdolls page 50.  For the clothing, I used everything on that page except for the hair.  The hair is from page from page 44 because I thought it was more like my nephew's.  I used the basketball from Life's a Party instead of the one from EPD.  It is on page 27 and what I did is use the Layer option.  I used the markers to do the first layer and then cut the shift layer. It worked perfectly.  The stamp on the front is from My Pink Stamper Everyday Life stamp set ( http://www.mypinkstamper.com/).    The patterned paper is from DCWV's The Guy Stack.  The green base and on the inside is Coredinations.  The rest is just from my scraps.

Wiggly Monkey card

I have been very impatiently waiting on my order of Action Wobbles to arrive so that I could finish this card.
I didn't put a lot on the front because I wanted the "swinging" monkey to be the focal point and when I attempted anything else it just seemed to be too much.  My style seems to be more simple and less fussy.  Even though I really like other people's busier designs, I don't seem to be able to do it myself.

Anyway, this card is for my nephew.

This adorable monkey is from Create A Critter on page 46.  I love him so much, I have used him in a couple of different cards.    The Go Wild word art is from CAC also on page 29 under the Phrase key.   The Happy Birthday is from Life is a Party page 31 under the Phrase option.  The 18 is the font from Life is a Beach.  All the patterned paper is from DCWV's The Guy Stack.  The Base is Kraft paper from Papertrey Ink.  The green on the inside is Coredinations and the blue background on the front was from my scraps, but I believe is also a Coredinations card stock.

I wish you could see the Monkey "swinging" from the vine.  It is really cute.  I have tons of ideas for more uses of the Action Wobbles, so stay tuned.
