Thanks for the smile

I ran into a friend last week that I had not seen since before Christmas.  She thanked me for the Christmas gift I had sent her, but she really enthused over the card that I had made.  To be honest, I don't remember which card I gave her, but it was so nice that she told me how much she liked and appreciated the card.
It put a smile on my face.

Thanks,
Cindy :)

Really?

You know something has got to be done about this economy.  I thought it had reached an all time low when I bought my Little Debbie snack cakes and they looked as if they had been on a crash diet and their wrappers were way too large! But this morning when I went to make my instant oatmeal, it had shrunk!  Not my instant oatmeal!  Really?  Taking away my oatmeal!  You know things are bad when they start shrinking your instant oatmeal!
Now don't even get me started on the price of gasoline!

3-Roses Valentine

And yet another Valentine's Day Card.  Believe it or not, I have at least one maybe two more to do!
I used my Shall We Dance cartridge for this one also.  These roses are on page 70.

Thanks for coming by!

A couple more Valentines

I used my Shall We Dance cartridge for the first time.  I was pleasantly surprised by how nicely the rose came out.  It is on page 69 and I cut it just like it is shown.  I used glitter paper for the rose.
The phrase is from Martha Stewart's Seasonal Cake Art cartridge page 46 (Thanks, Pat).

I haven't finished the inside yet.  Waiting for Ken to pick out the card he wants before I finish and mail them tomorrow.

Thanks for coming by.  I really appreciate the comments and the sweet ones that have signed up as followers!

Valentine 2

I really love the way this card turned out, but really had a hard time getting a photo.  I used the same paper that changes on this one and it is so hard to photograph.  Also the white mat is a shimmery paper so it makes the stamp on the bottom hard to photograph.
The heart is from the Sweethearts cartridge page 35.  I used the blackout for the shiny layer and then the shadow for the bottom layer in a Stampin' Up paper. The border heart punch is a Martha Stewart "Punch around the Page" punch set that I got last year. The base layer of the card  front is from a DCWV stack and was in my scraps. The actual card base is also Stampin' Up card stock.
For the inside I just used the corner punch of the Punch around the Page punches.

Thanks for coming by and commenting on my cards,

Koala Valentine

I have been trying to get in the mood to do Valentine's cards, but just can't seem to get started.  I have several ideas floating around in my noggin, but just unable to get going.
Today My Pink Stamper (http://www.mypinkstamper.com/) had a challenge to make something that makes you happy or reminds you of spring. I made this cute koala from Create a Critter with his iridescent balloon. So I am going to enter my cute koala in her challenge.

The cute koala is on page 49.  I cut the balloon from the shift image of the same cartridge.  I wish you could see the paper the balloon is cut from in person.  It changes color and the hearts change shape as you look from different angles.  I thought it would make it look like a mylar balloon. Too cute. I, of course, put it on an Action Wobble because if love the way it lets it move, like it is floating.
I used the Cuttlebug and the Conversation Hearts folder to emboss the front.
On the inside I used a Martha Stewart stamp around the page punch that I picked up last year.  The stamp was from a set that I have had a while with different holidays, but I don't have the original packaging so I don't remember the brand.  Sorry.

Hope you enjoy.  Comments are always appreciated.

Girly Birthday Card

I made this card for a friend's daughter who is turning 18.  She likes bling, so I hope she likes this card!

Both of these cuts are from the Picturesque cartridge that I recently bought on sale.  The Butterfly is from page 65.  I cut the blackout in purple, the shift image in orange and the base image in yellow glitter paper.  I added a couple purple gems and put it on ------ you guessed it---- an action wobble!   The flower is the daisy on page 53 and I cut the shadow and the base flower in 2 1/2 and 2 1/4 inch increments in a couple of colors of purple and then the framework in a pinkish color.  I added some Fruit Punch Stickles and some gold gems in the center.  The leaves were cut from page 55, just the base image and I drew on the stem centers.  The Happy Birthday is a My Pink Stamper stamp (http://www.mypinkstamper.com/ )  from the Family and Friends set.  The Polka Dot Paper is from PaperTrey Ink (http://www.papertreyink.com/) a collection called Polka Dot Parade.  The inside stamp is from Stampin' Up.  The inside corners are punched with a Friskars punch.

Thanks for coming by and taking a look.  Comments are very welcome.
