Basketball Birthday

I made this card for another nephew's birthday.  The basketball is on an Action Wobble.  Lesson Learned:  the larger, heavier a cut is, the better it wobbles.  The basketball doesn't have as much movement as the monkey on my first card.  But it still moves some and adds dimension, so I still like it.

The basketball player is from Everyday Paperdolls page 50.  For the clothing, I used everything on that page except for the hair.  The hair is from page from page 44 because I thought it was more like my nephew's.  I used the basketball from Life's a Party instead of the one from EPD.  It is on page 27 and what I did is use the Layer option.  I used the markers to do the first layer and then cut the shift layer. It worked perfectly.  The stamp on the front is from My Pink Stamper Everyday Life stamp set ( http://www.mypinkstamper.com/).    The patterned paper is from DCWV's The Guy Stack.  The green base and on the inside is Coredinations.  The rest is just from my scraps.

Hope you enjoy.  Comments very welcomed.

Wiggly Monkey card

I have been very impatiently waiting on my order of Action Wobbles to arrive so that I could finish this card.
I didn't put a lot on the front because I wanted the "swinging" monkey to be the focal point and when I attempted anything else it just seemed to be too much.  My style seems to be more simple and less fussy.  Even though I really like other people's busier designs, I don't seem to be able to do it myself.

Anyway, this card is for my nephew.

This adorable monkey is from Create A Critter on page 46.  I love him so much, I have used him in a couple of different cards.    The Go Wild word art is from CAC also on page 29 under the Phrase key.   The Happy Birthday is from Life is a Party page 31 under the Phrase option.  The 18 is the font from Life is a Beach.  All the patterned paper is from DCWV's The Guy Stack.  The Base is Kraft paper from Papertrey Ink.  The green on the inside is Coredinations and the blue background on the front was from my scraps, but I believe is also a Coredinations card stock.

I wish you could see the Monkey "swinging" from the vine.  It is really cute.  I have tons of ideas for more uses of the Action Wobbles, so stay tuned.

Thanks for coming by and I love comments and don't mind critiques!

Obsessed?

Do you think it has gotten to be too much when you wake up and you have been dreaming about thumbing through paper stacks?

Alien Card

Yesterday Shelby told me she needed a birthday card for a friend.  She gave me about an hours notice.  She said he liked things to do with space.  Here is what I came up with.

I used my brand new cartridge Life's A Party.  The cutie alien is on page 25.  Added some googlie eyes and some stickles.  The "Happy Birthday" is on page 31 of the cartridge.  I just used the solid image and not the layer.  The star on the inside is from Birthday Bash and is the card/tag feature on page 24.
Shelby said her friend really liked the card.  I had fun making it.

A little Bird told me

This is a card that I made for some friends.  I used the Birthday Bash cartridge.  The bird on the flags and the word art are both on page 39.

All of the paper used was from Papertrey Ink.  The patterned paper is from the Background Basics: Christmas pad.  The white ribbon is some I picked up at the craft store.

I've Been Busy

I know that I have been neglecting my blog posts, but it is not because I haven't been busy.  It's because Shelby borrowed my camera.  I have been catching up on my scrapbooking.  Of course, I am only up to the middle of 2009!  I really need to catch up because 2009 and 2010 are starting to get confused in my head!!

I have never posted any of my scrapbook pages - and I apologize now for the photography!  I didn't want to just leave my sweet followers wondering where I had gone.  So here are a few of the ones I've been working on.

These pictures are from our trip to Texas in June 2009 to visit Billy and Clare and make plans for their wedding.  For the first page I used my 50 States cartridge for the first time for the state shape and name. The paper is from DCWV stack Linen Closet. I finished it up with some embellishments that I got from the $1 bin at JoAnn's after Christmas.
Then for the next pages, I used my Old West Cartridge for the embellishments.  I used the Cricut markers on the rope frames and date, then used some chestnut roan chalk from color box to add some more interest. Chowtime was cut out with the shadow and inked.  The paper is from DCWV's The Guy Stack.

These pages are about Emmy Lou.  I used paper from DCWV Sweet stack.  The letters, the heart and the journaling frame are all from the Storybook cartridge.  I added a few prima flowers and pearls to finish.

I did a couple of other pages and made a card for Clare, who lost her Grandmother.  I didn't get a picture of the card and won't bore you with all of my scrapbook pages!

Thank you so much for being a follower and for coming by.  I enjoy visiting your blogs and seeing what you have been up to too.  Ya'll inspire me so much with all of your talent.

My very first Blog Award

Pat at Pat's Scraps (http://patsscraps.blogspot.com/) gave me my very first blog award!  Thank you so much Pat!!!!

One of the provisions of receiving this award is that I must list 3 things about myself that make me unique.

1.  I am a Nascar fan and a really big fan of Tony Stewart #14 and a big fan of Kasey Kahne #4 and a lot of other drivers.
2.  I have a posse that follows me everywhere I go.  My posse consists of my Shih Tzu, Gibbs and my Yorkie, Emmy.  We are the three Amigos!
3.  Just talking and thinking about crafting with my Cricut lightens my mood and puts a sparkle in my eye.

Now I have to pick 5 people to pass this award along to and that is a hard job as there are so many great bloggers out there.

First cards of 2011

The first card I made for a challenge for My Pink Stamper, but my mojo wasn't firing on all cylinders and I didn't post it for the challenge.  The requirements were to make a project with pink, green, brown and any other color of your choice.
I used one of my new cartridges, Birthday Bash.  This cupcake is on page 58. I cuttlebugged the "wrapper", stickled the sprinkles and inked all the edges with Colorbox chalks.  I cut the little label from the tag feature on page 30.  Of course, the "Sweet!" is a My Pink Stamper stamp.

The next card turned out pretty much just like I envisioned it.  It is a birthday card for my hubby, who is a really cool guy!
When I saw this snowman on Smiley Cards, I knew right away that I wanted to use him for my husband's birthday card.  I added some Glossy accents to the sunglasses and buttons.  The Happy Birthday is from page 65 on the Birthday Bash cartridge.  The Cool Guy is from the alphabet on Cake Basics and shadowed.  The icicles are the Martha Stewart Drippy Goo punch and the snow flakes are also a Martha Stewart punch.  I am pretty happy with the way it turned out.
